Transverse Orientation

For me I think Dimitris Papaioannou is in the same league as Ivo Van Hove, just a different method. They are both theater icons.

The title Transverse Orientation apparently refers to the mechanism by which moths always point themselves towards the light. I still don’t get the narrative of the whole show or if there is any at all. But from my experience in watching Papaioannou’s shows, I don’t try to make sense it, just go along for the ride and enjoy it.

And with Transverse Orientation, I had a great time. This show might not be as grand as the others but the physicality that the cast members displayed from balancing themselves in a piece of styrofoam is amazing to watch. They make it look so easy but for sure they need all the precise muscle movements to execute it. And I can tell, sweats were pouring from all cast members ( I was lucky enough to get a front row seat).

And the surprise at the end that there is a lake or something under the stage was a pleasant surprise. Although they could have done more after the reveal in my opinion. They went through all the hard work of removing each wood planks off the stage to reveal the lake, why not do more with the lake afterwards? But it’s just me, a happy spectator. But if Giannis happen to read this, maybe  he can think about it… ha ha ha.

One thing I also like about this show is that the cast is not too many. This time only six men and one woman (plus another female cameo at the end) but before I talk about the men I must say Breanna O’ Mara is fabulous! She held her own against all six gorgeous men.

Here are the gorgeous male cast:

Damianno Ottavio Bigi

Suka Horn- He has the greatest amount of nudity among all cast members.

He was just fully nude for extended periods of time not once but at least 4 to 5x. He has an amazing body. Nice big ass and nice uncut cock.

Jan Mollmer- There are 3 male performers who had more nudity and as I mentioned earlier Suka had the most. Jan is one of the three. Just look at the photo and it speaks for itself. Very manly!

Łukasz Przytarski

If I am not mistaken, he is the lower half of the androgynous character above.

Christos Strinopoulos- I recognize him from previous Dimitris’ work. He is the third male cast member with extended full frontal. Nice untrimmed pubes, hairy bubbe butt and hot uncut cock

Michalis Theophanous

And I want to share comments from one of readers Calvin about this show, just in case you haven’t been reading the comments section 🙂

Really enjoyed this show, another interesting and challenging piece by Dimitris Papaioannou. Some parts did drag a little but all in all enjoyable. There was a cast of six men and two women and all get fully naked, some multiple times. The big nude scene is a little over halfway through and involves the cast stripping down and balancing on giant blocks. One of the male performers also has a scene where he is slowly stripped of a wetsuit though it’s unfortunately staged on the very front of stage so folks in the orchestra may need to stretch their necks a bit (the rest of the scenes are easily viewed). Finally two of the male performers (including the one on the main poster) have lengthy nude scenes, about ten minutes each.”

Last word on this: It is always an event to see Dimitris’ work. He is a genius.
