Focus on LARS EIDINGER

Lars Eidinger is one of great German actors you might have not heard of.  He is in the new Adam Driver movie WHITE NOISE. He is a great theater actor and takes on Shakespeare’s characters effortlessly. And he has no qualms about nudity. Here he is in RICHARD III.

This week he is in New York to play the role of Hamlet at BAM. There is something sexy about this guy.

New York Premiere

By William Shakespeare
German translation by Marius von Mayenburg
Schaubühne Berlin
Directed by Thomas Ostermeier

Part of Next Wave 2022
From its mud-splattered, rain-soaked opening, Thomas Ostermeier’s Hamlet delivers on its reputation as one of the great interpretations of Shakespeare. Pop music, drag shows, and courtly duels coexist in riotous harmony in the German auteur’s legendary production, which finally comes to New York after traveling the globe to international acclaim. Cult Shakespearean star Lars Eidinger (Richard III) gives an unforgettable, no-holds-barred performance as the Dane, gliding between Hamlet’s famous soliloquies and raucous improvisations as he swears, schemes, and videotapes.

With the uncompromising vision that earned him the Venice Biennale’s Golden Lion in honor of his body of work, Ostermeier returns to BAM to bring new meaning to mad genius.

Note: Strobe lights will be used in this production.

  1. He is always willing to go fully nude which is great!

There may be another current production with nudity – the musical Shooting Star which was written by porn star Hans Berlin. The LA production had several fully nude scenes though the NY casting notice only listed frontal for two actors and noted it was only if they were comfortable with it, only rear was required for them. Tickets are only 30 bucks and it’s at a bar so at least there is alcohol if the show is not good.

    1. Just saw the ad pop up on FB. I looked at all the descriptions and none mention frontal nudity……so a bit apprehensive about subwaying all the way to Bushwick.
