Excerpts of reviews:
I went to see *The Talented Mr. Ripley*. For anyone who’s a fan of Hugo: run, don’t walk! The scene is marvelous—much better than I imagined. In fact, I think it’s the most memorable nude scene I’ve ever seen in the theater. His cock is delicious—bigger than it looked in photos where he was wearing a Speedo—and his ass… oh my. The scene takes place right after a confrontation in a bathtub (which, in the context of the play, represents a boat) between the main characters. The lights go out, and when they come back up, Hugo is already standing there completely naked, facing away from the audience. Moments later, he turns around—fully illuminated—and goes through a series of repeated movements: lifting his leg, stretching, and so on. Then he steps out of the tub; the lighting shifts to red, but you can still see him perfectly clearly. He runs across the stage, squats down, spreads his legs wide, and repeats this sequence a few times before finally coming to a stop in front of a mirror located in the back-right corner of the stage. There, he stands rubbing himself vigorously, and shortly thereafter, he grabs a towel. He remains in that pose—just like in the photo I posted—for quite a while, interacting directly with the audience. I really enjoyed the play itself, as well as his performance. It doesn’t quite become my favorite adaptation of the book, but it takes an interesting approach and is technically very well-produced—especially the sound and lighting design.
